OUR TERROIR

With a privileged location in the Dão Demarcated Region, Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha lives in harmony with the surrounding landscape. It’s located in the Serra da Estrela sub-region, 400 meters above sea level, with its vineyards planted in granite soils.

The climate is simultaneously influenced by the Atlantic and the Interior, which is why winters are cold and rainy while summers are hot and dry. It’s from 50 hectares of replanted vineyards to which are added 7 hectares of old vines with about 50 years of age that Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha produces superior quality wines reflecting the maximum exponent of the region.

The Dão region has a wide variety of grape varieties, with Touriga Nacional being the main grape variety for red wines and Encruzado for white wines.
It was in this region that Touriga Nacional was born and it’s also in this region where this variety shows its full expression.
It’s exclusively the indigenous varieties of the Dão region that give rise to our wines that stand out for its authenticity, respecting the characteristics of the terroir.

In the red varieties besides Touriga Nacional there’s also Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Pinheira.
In the white varieties, Encruzado and Malvasia Fina are part of the varieties chosen at Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha.
The chosen grape varieties aim to create wines that stand out for an authenticity that comes from older times, seeking to combine tradition with innovation.

We respect the rhythm of the vineyards and wines in all their phases so that every year we’re always surprised and provide us with great moments through its aromas and flavors so characteristic.
A unique terroir that originates these wines that complement each other with stories, traditions, lives, dreams, experiences, colors and aromas.
